The 3 Days Sumba Tour aims to explore the traditional village and traditional weaving in Waikabubak and Waingapu.
3 Days Sumba Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Bali – Tambolaka (Waikabubak – West Sumba)
You will begin straight after breakfast with a pick up from your hotel anywhere in South Bali and from there be transferred to the international airport where you will take an early internal flight to the Tambolaka Airport where you will then be met by your guide and escorted to the Mona Lisa hotel (or equivalent). From this hotel you will then be able to freshen up as well as eating lunch and then visiting Prai Ljing, Tarong and Waitabar where you will be able to walk around these beautiful traditional villages and interact with the locals as well as learning about their traditional culture and heritage. Dinner and the overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 2 Waikabubak – Waingapu – Rende
On the second day of the 3 Days Sumba Tour you will head by land to Waingapu in East Sumba offering more view and experiences in such a short period of time. You stop off at the Pasunga Village where you will be able to view the incredible Stone Gave which is one of the forms of the traditional architecture of the Sumbanese. When you arrive in Waingapu you will check into another hotel known as the Hotel Merlin (or similar), here you will again have a chance to freshen up before heading over to the Pau Dan Rende Village where you will spend around 2 hours taking in the potency of the greatest stone grave and the traditional house and buildings. You will see the buffalo skin buildings as well as the traditional weaving of the Ikat cloth which is characterized by the authentic Sumbanese style and is made and sold all over the area. Beautiful views of the Savanna plains where cattle and coffee plantations are visible also await your hungry eyes, as do the incredible sunsets that this area of the world is renowned for. Day 3 Waingapu – Denpasar
